Synspective Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo, CEO: Dr. Motoyuki Arai, hereinafter referred to as “Synspective”’), a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite data and solutions provider, is pleased to announce that the company is partnering with TOKYO KEIKI INC. (Head Office: Tokyo, CEO: Tsuyoshi Ando, hereafter TOKYO KEIKI) to mass-produce the company’s small SAR satellites. Synspective is going to build a constellation of 30 SAR satellites by around 2026. Tokyo Keiki will build a new clean room for satellite assembly and aims to start mass production within the next few years.
Synspective develops and operates high-frequency, high-resolution SAR satellites to provide data analytics and solution services. Our SAR satellite “StriX ” series has the same performance capabilities as the conventional large SAR satellite but with a reduced price thanks to its small size and lightweight features. We have already succeeded in putting two satellites into targeted orbit. By 2023, we will have six satellites in total, bringing us closer to a planned constellation of 30 satellites by around 2026.
TOKYO KEIKI has been supplying microwave power amplifier modules for Synspective’s small SAR satellites over many years. As part of this partnership, TOKYO KEIKI will build a new assembly facility with a clean room for satellite assembly and plans to start operations within the next few years. As part of the “Tokyo Keiki Vision 2030”, which outlines the company’s long-term strategy to contribute to realizing a safe society for the future, the company has selected the space sector as a growth driver candidate.
Moving forward, the two companies will continue discussions and draw up contract agreements based on the execution plan.
